6th St Communications helps realtors own their neighborhood with thoughtful publications in the mail

Meet Ben Lee.

Ben Lee is #10 among Coldwell Banker Agents worldwide.

Over the last decade his neighborhood publications have helped him build a string community presence and reputation as the "go to" realtor in his exclusive Los Angeles neighborhood.

Ben's publication mixes relatable, personal stories with community news and real estate listings

6th Street Communications has been nothing short of a miracle for [us]. When we set out to create a marketing newsletter, we knew we could write the articles but had no idea how to produce the actual hard copy and get it mailed to the various neighborhoods in which our reach spanned. We found Rob Schwenker eight years ago and his publishing knowledge, help, guidance and understanding of the marketing field helped propel our idea into an actual printed newsletter that now, over 96 months later, gets distributed to over 10,000 households every month. Working with Rob and 6th Street has been a true gift. They are smart, professional, meet every deadline, handle every demand with grace, ease and a can-do attitude. I don't think our real estate business would have found even a fraction of its success if it hadn't been for Rob and his team at 6th Street Communications. I can't recommend this company highly enough!

Interesting local anecdotes and updates on community events are fun and useful to all of us!

You might be thinking to yourself "why should I care about the last two weeks of my life, when all I really want is to sell a house?" We're glad you asked. The more you know about your prospective buyer's wants and needs, the better equipped you will be to help them find their dream home. And who doesn't love that?

What do you know about your neighborhood? It seems like a simple question, but when you start to really think about it, the answer is not so straightforward. You may have heard that a new store opened up on the corner or that your favorite butcher has a wonderful story to tell. But what's happening closer to home? What are people talking about at school or at the art fair? Is your block safe for kids to walk alone after dark? How can I make my house more appealing to buyers and renters alike? These are all questions we ask ourselves every day as realtors and while each city has its own unique set of challenges and opportunities.

Sixth Street helps you get up to speed, because this is not an individual game, it’s a team effort to guide buyers and sellers in the right direction. With our deep knowledge of the effects of direct mail, we help you not only know your market, but own it.

Stories about your favorite local people and places foster community connections.

The best realtors know that success is built on a foundation of repetition. The most successful agents are embedded in their communities. They are talked about casually and has a great history of a wonderful demeanor and quality sales. They come back again and again, with more deals every time you see them! They are masters at building long-term relationships and it's no surprise when they're outselling everyone else in town.

The best realtors know how important frequency is for establishing brand equity over time. Become an expert about your neighborhood by staying up to date with current events and connecting with the people who live there. Become a true resident of this community, stay informed on all things going in our area so that you can build connections between yourself and those around us more effectively.

Oh, and you should feature your listings too... ;)

It won’t make you an overnight success, but it will help you generate more leads and sales over time by telling your story in the most engaging way possible to attract new customers or investors.

Josh and Rob were the right choice for so many reasons - they were professional, flexible, and talented. Choosing a company is harrowing because there are so many people trying to do this type of work and it is hard to make the right selection.

They said they could deliver what I wanted within my budget and I was not disappointed. The creative process was collaborative, in that they were able to turn my vague likes and dislikes into a beautiful finished product that seemed to be exactly what I described!

I was also able to get a branding and logo work from 6th Street, which they smoothly incorporated the look into my site. I have received so many compliments on the site and branding elements that only confirmed what I knew, that Josh and Rob are the best. I couldn’t recommend them more.

OK, but, how the %&@* do we come up with all of these stories!?

It's a fair question. What if you could hire a former newspaper publisher with a staff of writers and designers to bring your vision to life and amplify your message? You can!

This doesn't require a lot of heavy lifting on your part, we need your listings, some photos you likely already have, and your brain on a brief regular call.

Content is King!

This process delivers you all sorts of valuable content for your website and social, it doesn't just have to live in the mail. We can coordinate it with and even produce if you like your regular email newsletter and it becomes a key part of your promotional material strategy that can replace expensive lower value items like door hangers and bus benches.

More than a postcard. Your mail products should be high value to your existing and potential clients, they should pour over them, keep them, maybe even read them again. Provide them something interesting and you've got a chance at that, send them a postcard and risk immediate relegation to the circular file

Josh Heisler | Partner, Design + Digital Strategy

As the creative lead for Sixth Street, Josh has had a robust background in design, giving him a foundation to deliver a clear strategy with sometimes (ok, many times) ridiculous ideas.  Josh has been a jack-of-all-arts for many years.  He believes that an eclectic background brings eclectic ideas.  He is driven by projects that inspire him and loves the ability to work on things he’s both deeply knowledgeable in alongside those that terrify him the most.

Over the last 15 years, Josh has let inspiration lead him.  He’s done Shakespeare in the park and Voiceover for brands like Enterprise, HP and Lennox.  He was the Artistic Director of a theater company for over 10 years and created an innovative pet brand that sold through shops like Petco.  He has worked in the media landscape through work in the newspaper industry (where he met Rob) and gutted a 70s RV and rebuilt from scratch.  He’s built websites for corporations to entrepreneurs, made money and lost it, but always with the same goal, tell stories, be honest and follow your dreams.

Similar to Rob, he has a deep love of Los Angeles sports.  This comes in somewhere close to his love of his dog, Jaxon, (his favorite video of him can be seen here), and his wife…the order of which is unimportant.
